Canadian Certified Counsellor
Sacha is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and has been working as a therapist with adolescent girls, young women, and their families since 2011. When Sacha was finishing up her graduate studies in the field of psychology she was working with girls through the YWCA in Vancouver, facilitating groups to empower young girls in their transition from elementary and junior high school to high school, and this sparked her passion of working with young women. She began at Juno House in her clinical practicum and acted as Community Intake Counsellor. Following the completion of her graduate studies Sacha became a member of the Juno House Therapist team and is a full time Associate Therapist at Juno House.
Sacha completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Victoria, where she concentrated her course work on developmental and neuropsychology. She completed her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at the Adler University in Vancouver, BC. Sacha has a firm belief in the Juno House treatment model. The Juno Model has roots in relational family focused therapy combined with attachment theory, developmental and affective neuroscience research, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Sacha is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFFT (Emotion-Focused Family Therapy).
Sacha believes that every young woman has a voice that needs to be heard. Through the use of a highly relational therapeutic environment, empathy, genuine regard, and congruence, Sacha strives to empower girls and young women to uncover their strengths and potential to overcome challenges, fostering healthy and thriving futures.
