Amber Caraba

MACP
Registered Psychologist
Associate Therapist

Amber Caraba is a Registered Psychologist with a passion for family therapy to support girls/women and their families in feeling seen/heard and grounded in their ability to grow. She strongly believes in the efficacy of developmental psychology, attachment theory, neuroscience, and trauma informed care that are at the core of the Juno House model to facilitate change within family systems. The resilience each story brings forward, and the healing that is possible through emotional expression and relational connection inspires her work. To build on existing resilience, she helps parents align/connect with their child while they navigate interpersonal relationships, walk through mental health concerns, and develop healthy emotional literacy.

Amber holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. She has training in EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families.  The majority of her work has been in child and adolescent mental health within the medical model where she advocated for a systemic approach to therapy.

Using acceptance, compassion, humour, and transparency she provides a safe and secure environment to explore the sense of self that is unique to each girl and woman she works with. Amber is forever curious about the mind/body experience and the role that relationships play in the experience and expression of emotion throughout the life span. Raising three children, including twin daughters has strengthened her mission to support young girls/women in finding and sharing their voice, because each one matters. She is an avid photographer, equestrian, and traveller and enjoys yoga in the quieter moments.
